The Season Kick Off – Level 3 offers experienced coaches an opportunity to deepen their coaching knowledge and refine their strategies for U18 and Future Competition Teams. Hosted at the NRCA (home of Rugby Netherlands), this program provides a comprehensive learning experience featuring seminars, networking sessions, and socializing opportunities. Coaches will gain advanced insights from top coaches actively engaged with National Team programs, empowering them to elevate their coaching to an elite level.

Program Setup:

The Season Kick Off – Level 3 features a structured program designed to maximize learning and networking opportunities for experienced coaches. Throughout the day, coaches will attend advanced seminars led by top coaches from Rugby Netherlands, focusing on tactical analysis, player development, strategic planning, and leadership. Ample time is allocated for networking and socializing, allowing coaches to connect with peers, share experiences, and exchange ideas.


                                     

9:00 – 9:30: Introduction

  • Welcome address by Kristof VanHout – Technical Director of Rugby Netherlands
  • Overview of the seminar objectives and schedule by Gareth Gilbert
  • Introduction of guest speakers and coaching staff

9:30 – 11:00: Strength and Conditioning for Advanced Players

  • Advanced strength and conditioning techniques tailored for U18 and Future competition players
  • High-intensity interval training (HIIT), plyometrics, and speed development drills
  • Injury prevention strategies and recovery protocols for elite athletes

11:00 – 11:30: Tea Break

  • Opportunity for networking and informal discussions with coaches and speakers

11:30 – 13:00: Attack; Theory and Practical

15:00 – 15:30: Tea Break

  • Refreshments served with time for coaches to mingle and exchange ideas

15:30 – 16:30: Defense

  • Implementing a Comprehensive Defense System
  • Situational Decision Making
  • Using Defense to gain territory
  • Defending the Set Piece

16:30 – 17:00: Recap of the Day and Introduction to CPD

  • Review of key learnings from the day’s sessions
  • Introduction to Continuous Professional Development (CPD) opportunities for coaches
